A synthetic mineral blasting abrasive manufactured by melting bauxite in an electric fusing furnace. Also known as artificial corundum. |
Hard
The Mohs hardness of 9.
Durable
Demonstrates relatively high resistance to shatter, promoting high energy transfer to surface and low dust generation.
Dense
The high specific gravity (3.95) ensures that the particles impacting on the surface have a high energy to facilitate dirt and scale removal.
Sharp
Irregular, angular particle shape provides a rapid cleaning action on all types of substrate.
Non-metalic
Suitable for use on stainless steel and non-ferrous metals.
Safe
Free silica content is less than 1%.
Applications
Ideally suited to use in blast cabinets where the abrasive can be recovered and reused.
